I struggled with food since I was about 8 years old, over 40 years of compulsive overeating. Signs of bulimia showed up in my teens as I tried to burn off what I ate with exercise: bicycling, running (not my thing) and swimming. I knew I had a dis-ease or illnesses with food. I didn’t understand the underlying forces nor did I know how to make myself well. The struggle (and underlying emotions) affected my self-image and confidence.

It wasn’t until 12 years ago, when I was listening to Deborah Battersby at a YES meeting held in a church on Daniel Island. She explained that there are no negative emotions, they all serve us. She then shared how to tap into our subconscious and actually replace feelings or emotions that weren't serving us well with ones that would empower us. She did this in the form of a group session (there must have been at least 50 people in attendance) and I hung on to her every word. I was so amazed by the way I felt after that meeting, that I continued to use the system to further improve my life.
Â
It was only a few months, I lost 14 pounds and seemed to naturally improve my eating habits. I’ve never gone back to my old behaviors. I have not gained back that weight for 12 years with the exception of muscle weight. The best part is that it’s not a struggle. It's like having a regulator that manages balance.

When I help people, I want them to know how important it is to make this about them and not for somebody's approval of them. This is for you, the way you want to feel and be. It’s about what makes sense for you. What do you want for yourself? You must be honest with yourself. Sometimes we’re a bit lost in our situation and we only know that we’re not happy or uncomfortable. That’s ok, we just have to do our best.
Â
Just think about a time when you were driving somewhere and before you knew it, you had arrived at your destination. Remember wondering how you got there? It's your subconscious' job to memorize patterns so your brain can work on all the things that you need to think about and decide on at any given moment. So, it's to your advantage to let your subconscious drive most of your daily activities and leave your mind free for decisions and activities that require consciousness. This is exactly why I believe that aligning your subconscious to your goals is the secret to success.
Â
It’s a mind hack when we flip the switch and allow our subconscious to work for us. I would love to meet you, to walk you through my workbook (a free download from Shorichek.com) and share how we work together.

Cheers!
